Volume UP!: A new generation of artists, spectators, and performers in search of
their own mindset and safe social space.
Volume UP! is a creative source of energy and the road to understanding
a generation that has the desire to change the balance of power through direct
intervention on reality - giving more importance to creation and participation.
Going deeper into subjects to find the common thread between performers and
spectators, they veered toward extremes to provoke themselves (and their audience) to
confront social norms by giving themselves over to mental and visual ways of
participation.
This is an ongoing reflection of a generation alarmed by the rise of a new puritan
social movement that sharply restricts the freedom of individuals

Leva Naglina (b. 1981)
is an artist and curator, who works and lives in Riga, Latvia. She graduated from the Art Academy of Latvia graphic department in 2007. In creative work, Naglina uses graphics, painting, and mixed media. As a curator at the Riga Porcelain Museum, Naglina works with contemporary graphic and ceramic art. Since 2016 Naglina has been the program curator of the international festival “Printmaking IN” in Riga, Latvia. She also runs the broadcast about art “Subjektīvie mērījumi” (Subjective measurements) on radio “NABA” (Latvia).

Marta Vaarik (b.1986)
is an artist, photographer, and self-proclaimed blond trickster based in Tallinn, Estonia. She holds a BFA degree in painting from the Estonian Academy of Arts. She did an exchange program at UDK studying under professor Josephine Pryde. She has had solo shows and has participated in group shows in Berlin and Estonia. She works in the mediums of painting, photography, performance, and video.
Artjom Astrov (b. 1989)
is a musician based in Vienna. His eclectic composition style incorporates both produced and found sound, digital processing and songwriting. Astrov’s use of voice (spoken word, rapping) can be characterised by a sense of alienated lyricism. As a sound designer for various contemporary performance productions, Astrov has developed a distinctively minimalistic approach that relies on spatial and conceptual properties of sound.

Non Grata(est. 1998)
is a performance group that travels constantly all over the world - Asia-America-Europe - with performances and Diverse Universe Nomadic Performance festival. The main characteristics of the members are anonymity in group work, ignorance
of the local art world, and mass media. Non Grata manifests creative freedom and Storm Generation and physically linking worldwide creative network.
