Marni Kotak is a performance and multimedia artist whose durational works challenge the boundaries between art and life. She gained international acclaim for “The Birth of Baby X” (2011), and “Mad Meds” (2014), documenting her withdrawal from psychiatric medication. Other notable works include “Dancing in the Oval Office” (2019) and “Seriously Kidding Around” (2022), which celebrated ten years of framing motherhood as art alongside her child. Kotak has exhibited globally at venues including the Santiago Museum of Contemporary Art and Artists Space. Her work has been widely featured in publications such as The New York Times, Artforum, and Time, as well as in academic texts like The Art of Feminism: Images that shaped the Fight for Equality, 1957-2017. She has appeared on Good Morning America, NPR, and The Art of Making It. Kotak holds a BA from Bard College and an MFA from Brooklyn College and is represented by Microscope Gallery in NYC.
Ajax Kotak Bell is a multimedia artist and performer based in New York City. Ajax has made work in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, design and video since a couple months after their birth. Born in October 2011 at Microscope Gallery in Brooklyn during Marni Kotak's live performance, The Birth of Baby X, they are an active collaborator in the Raising Baby X project. From early childhood, they participated in the Little Brother series, wearing a camera to record the world from a child's perspective—reversing the traditional dynamic of adults documenting children. As she grew older, her artistic autonomy evolved. For the 2022 collaborative exhibition “Seriously Kidding Around”, Ajax inhabited the gallery space with her mother, doing homework, cooking meals, playing videos games, and making art, earning a ten-foot trophy for "growing up for ten years”. She is currently a freshmen at the High School of Art and Design in NYC.
Megafawn is an artists collective, founded by Kalan Sherrard and Ron Shalom, dedicated to exploring ecological catastrophe through epic literature.
Pinc Louds is a self-proclaimed “imaginary band” whose music blends punk energy and crooner-style singing with elements of psychedelic folk, avant-rock, EDM and Afro-Caribbean music to create a sound that is as exciting as it is unique. Busking in the parks and tunnels opened many doors for the band, who quickly gained a cult following and by 2018 were selling out shows in such NYC venues as (le) Poisson Rouge, Market Hotel and Joe’s Pub, as well as tours throughout the US, Puerto Rico, Europe and Chile. Pinc Louds adds to the live music experience by making their shows a participatory adventure. Traveling inside giant subway puppets, reviving atomic mutants, chanting spells to a Watermelon God, as well as dance contests and prizes are all things you might expect at one of their immersive concerts.
