Cult of Consumption: Initiation
Cult of Consumption is a thematic exploration into the worship of consumption. In both physical and digital mediums, consumption is prioritized as the solution to all problems. Trouble sleeping? Buy a new pillow. Trouble finding love? Try these apps. Feeling existential dread? Indulge in a doom scroll. Bringing those feelings to their absurd extremes, come out to engage in practices of worship and adhere to certain tenets of Consumption as the unifying divine.

About //PIXELMOUTH
Made up of four NYC based artists of multiple disciplines, //PIXELMOUTH is fascinated by how our physical and digital worlds interact. Merging art and technology, they aim to tell stories of what the future of this dual existence could be, while creating opportunities to curate up-and-coming artists. Their explorations have primarily taken shape as one-night-only shows containing both installation and performance. Featuring multiple interactive installation pieces alongside a fusion of music and performance art, their shows are tied together through a recurring/durational performance titled: “bufferings”.
