<image:title>Events - Travestis del Infierno - PachaQueer is a performance and political project founded in Ecuador in 2013 by CoCa & MoTa, a dyad of Andean witches, radical travesties and gender terrorist monstras who proclaim the liberation of bodies and the emancipation of thoughts. Their artistic exploration has transformed a transvestite utopia into a Latin American dissident art platform of artists and activists fighting against the violence of the heteropatriarchal regime and the oppressions of the binary system. Their kamikaze strategy has ventured into the fields of film, music, literature, fashion, technology and their works have been presented in more than 21 countries around the world. Creators of the Transborder Festival of Performance and Politics #Performacula, the itinerant performance laboratory #MonstraCabaret and priestesses of the profane rituals of monstrosity #Travestisdelinfierno. PachaQueer is a trench of insurrection, symbiosis of art and politics and sanctuary of struggle and celebration.</image:title>

<image:title>Events - GES Spring Season - Meadow Le'elle is a local clown and music producer who makes textured, experimental electronic beats with "poperatic" vocals. Meadow has performed in the greater tri-state area for the last 5 years, making a name for itself by performing at venues like Trans Pecos, Purgatory, TV Eye, and the Meatlocker. This is Meadow’s fourth Grace Exhibition Space performance. Meadow's music production is most inspired by noise, opera, pop,and dance music. Complexity craves simplicity is its motto as it prefers to make music on BandLab, a music making app on the phone. Its live performances teeters with eroticism, melancholy, and abstract expression. It uses vocal effect pedals and the spirits of beyond to create an intriguing and haunted soundscape with expressive interpretive dance. Meadow's purpose is to invite people into the visceral expression of their sincerest woes whilst reminding people that not all clowns are made to laugh, but to help others engage in radical, authentic expression of self.</image:title>

<image:title>Events - GES Spring Season - Miao Jiaxin Studio is perhaps best known for transforming his New York studio into a jail and offering it as accommodation on Airbnb for $1 per night. The same space was later repurposed as a blind dating venue and, subsequently, a massage therapy clinic. Miao’s work often explores the ambivalent—and at times antagonistic—tension between the individual and governing or cultural authorities, questioning assumptions about power and its relationship to politics. He positions the artist as someone who transgresses boundaries, challenges consensus, and remains deliberately distant from authorities.</image:title>

The band is made of improvisational musicians: Jonah Knapp-Wilson, Sam Kurzydlo, and Jess Belardi, who investigate and explore themes of community, agency, ritual, impermanence, and grief. After forming in the spring of 2023, they have traversed New York DIY’s threshold between music and performance art–from live scoring queer erotica to accompanying multimedia choreography.</image:title>

<image:caption>Psychic Wormhole (Stacy Lynn Smith + Alex Romania) is a creative duo and production company making experimental films and multidisciplinary performances. The duo excavates trauma and somatic memory as a means to reclaim embodiment; autobiography filtered through Horror, Sci-Fi, Afro-futurism and Arthouse Cinema create gritty personal work. Recent works include “Face Eaters” at The Chocolate Factory Theater; an epic, multimedia performance opera processing global grief, political insanity, and suicide. Sweat Variant’s inaugural Artists Supporting Artists Program grant supports Psychic Wormhole to continue work on their debut feature film, RECKONING, a visceral abstract memoir grappling with Smith's survivorship of child sexual abuse and the lifelong effects of Complex-PTSD. Smith and Romania are respective Movement Research Artists in Residence. As Psychic Wormhole, the duo have been awarded residencies and support from Djerassi, MacDowell, Glasshouse Art.Life.Lab, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Rosekill Art Farm, Grace Exhibition Space, Queens Council on the Arts, Brooklyn Arts Council, City Artist Corps and were shortlisted for the 2025 Creative Capital Award in Film / Video. Psychic Wormhole have recently begun an exciting relationship with the Wexner Center’s Film / Video Studio, providing project mentorship.</image:caption>

Originally formed by Stonie Clark and LeLe Dai, the group is unkempt in the face of the kempt, far from prolific, ultra-inefficient, producing a sort of “un-ready made” art through the efforts of its various rotating members. Existing in an in-between state of preparing, performing, and unraveling or falling apart. Their most recent projects involve the creation of different water-based devices or inventions - designed for collective or participatory interactions. The valley is very hard to find for some reason. We visited the place once, but have never been able to locate it for a second time. When jim is not busy minding his onions he can usually be found down by the bay, where he likes to gaze at the reflections on the water and imagine that those upside down images are in fact the real world. When the season is warm, and there is plenty to eat and the weather is nice, cornbread jim makes little odd drawings/sculptures/effigies/performances, in an effort to illuminate the strange world he comes from. <image:caption>Cass Yao (b.1998, China) is a sculptor, performance artist based in New York. Their sculptures have been exhibited in Latitude Gallery, and non-profit spaces like New Uncanny Gallery, BRIC Gallery, theBlanc art space, h27 Gallery, etc... They have also directed four sculpture-based multimedia performance projects at various venues in New York and Baltimore and have participated in multiple durational group performances at public spaces.Yao is going to be an artist-in-residence at NARS Foundation 2025. Yao’s practice explores voluntary bodily modification as a generative process of reimagining identity, resilience, and physical form. Their works portray flexuous morphogenetic processes as a response to the motives behind the construction of an alternative corporeality—whether driven by medical necessity, lust, dysmorphia, or societal imperatives. Through sculpture and performance, they examine how psycho-physical trauma, dysmorphia, medical necessity, and gender transition shape the body as both a site of rupture and a vessel for regeneration. Qiujiang Levi Lu is a NYC-based performance artist, experimental musician, composer, and educator. Their work transforms the body into a sonic object through interactions with movements and audio technology, exploring identity, sound, and space. Lu designs customized feedback systems with cyborg-like body augmentations inspired by Objectophilia/animism. These include special microphones, speakers placed within bodily orifices, and an augmented amplified laptop. Their resulting performances consist of choreographed, ritualistic improvisations building upon ancient Chinese drumming traditions to manifest body dysmorphia, sexuality, spirituality, and mortality. As the second-prize winner of the International Electronic Music Competition 2023, their works have been featured internationally, including MATA Festival, High Zero Festival, The Poetry Project, E-Flux, IRCAM Forum, and Center for Performance Research. Lu has also been an artist-in-residence at ISSUE Project Room, Harvestworks TIP, Reforesters Laboratory, and Elektronmusikstudion Stockholm. Lu is currently a lecturer in the Department of Music at the University of Pennsylvania.</image:caption>

Mehdi-Georges Lahlou has also shown his work in numerous international exhibitions and biennials worldwide. A Botanical Conversation In "A Botanical Conversation," a performance directed by Mehdi-Georges Lahlou, the artists delve into themes of the palm tree, cultural migrations, and queer ecology. With contributions from Diwe Augustin-Glave, CHIMI, and Dr Lady J, this artistic experience offers a deep dive into the relationships between humanity and nature. "A Botanical Conversation" invites the murmurs born under the dome of the Cleveland Botanical Garden to escape, as if the essence of this place were transported to a new audience. These murmurs become stories, real dialogues, in a poetic and immersive experience for the spectators. A Botanical Conversation Featuring Diwe Augustin-Glave, CHIMI, Dr Lady J. They then cofounded MOMENTA @momentanyc an experimental dance and performance art series homed at Trans Pecos in December 2022. Lena has performed at Trans Pecos, Chinatown Soup Gallery, Purgatory, Honey's, and DIY spaces across the city. They are currently pursuing their MS in Sustainability at Columbia University.</image:caption>

<image:caption>MARA is a visual artist, chanter and musician who works with numerous artistic directions that includes performance art, sculpture, ceramics, soundart and installation art. A common denominator especially, for her performance art projects, is the profound intention to challenge the audience - and herself, by reaching into the innermost being of the spectator, creating deep vibrations through sound, materials and the human connection, that which can transform our senses. Her artistic themes circle around a central core containing the intuitive presence, togetherness, spiritual technologies, connections and reflections around wholeness. <image:caption>Carolina Muñoz Awad is a multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY, and Santiago, Chile. She has a background in architecture and received her MFA from Parsons School of Design in 2022. Her practice is a constant experimentation of her own body in space, trying to respond to questions regarding presence in healing, absurdity, and intuition. Carolina works through performance, installation, and the interaction of both in endurance pieces. She has exhibited her work in Santiago, Albany, and New York. She has attended the Arts Letters & Numbers Residency in upstate NY, and the Belgrade Art Studio online. Her most recent work, Monas Cigotas (2023), was included in the South American Performance Art cycle in New York at Grace Exhibition Space. commune-cater is a performance involving bodies. Bodies wearing handcrafted pieces that may influence movement and interaction. What if we could only touch through protuberances and sensorless extrusions on ourselves? Would we hold tight to others, or just to ourselves? To soothe, dance, and care. Curiosity and scale, obsession and repetition, are some of the topics the artist is interested in with this work. <image:caption>Jacob Cohen is a Brooklyn based experimental cellist and visual artist. From 2011–2016 he earned a living performing in the New York City subways, developing a unique style that has grown out of a frustration with traditional cello music and a complementary love of improvisation and performance. In 2014 he won the Transform Today contest sponsored by Absolut Vodka, which led to the creation of Cello Without Walls, in which he has been performing and conducting music and art workshops in prisons and jails throughout the northeastern United States. In 2015 Cello Without Walls was sponsored by Friends of Island Academy, a non-profit organization based in Harlem that provides services to young adults incarcerated on Rikers Island as well as transitional services upon their release, and was awarded a grant from the Vogler Foundation to create a music program for youth at Rikers Island’s Robert N. Davoren Complex. In 2016 Cello Without Walls was awarded funding from the Department of Corrections to expand into the George Motchen Detention Center for young adults and the Rose M. Singer Center for women. In addition to playing music with the participants he began sketching the daily lives of the people incarcerated on Rikers Island awaiting trial. The style of drawing quickly began to develop and the drawings became popular and sought after within the jail. He continues to work with youth at Rikers Island and runs a free recording studio in Harlem for those returning to the community.</image:caption>

<image:title>Events - South American Artists curated by NATACHA VOLIAKOVSKY - Carolina Muñoz Awad (Chile/NYC)</image:title>
<image:caption>carolina muñoz awad is a multidisciplinary artist, born in Santiago, Chile, in 1993. She has a background in architecture and science, previous to her studies in Fine Arts at Parsons, New York, which she completed in 2022. Her practice focuses mainly on the questioning of her human body in space and what different environments and materials provoke. carolina has used her own body as the main experimental subject since 2020 and has shown her installation and performance work in Santiago, New York, and Albany. She is interested in the raw perception through our senses and in the abstraction of improvised and instant reactions in the physical and emotional realm. carolina’s work interweaves English and Spanish language, as it deals with her presence in society; as a feminist, queer, migrant body–one that lives in a continent called America, and in a country that might never allow her to be called American.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Doménica García is an Ecuadorian multidisciplinary artist based in New York. Her work delves into a process of introspection, exploring the personal and discovering the universal. With the use of a hyperbolic language and the juxtaposition of the radical with the ordinary, she gives greater relevance to the day-to-day experience. García’s multimedia approach, particularly merging performance and digital art, allows her to manipulate the perception of reality, facilitating a fantastic and surreal experience within the rational world.</image:caption>

Ancestral drums and polyrhythmic patterns are re-contextualized in a void of reverberating energy - this howling echoes ancient akashic memory. This is a journey from the seeds of creation to the implosion - cycles of rebirth soaked in primal noise. A calling to move forward, scan backwards, and bathe in the electricity.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Tim Martin-Jones is an emergent artist, poet, and facilitator working primarily through performance and writing. Based in Cardiff, Wales, he received his MA in Performance Practice as Research from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University ofLondon. Drawing from his own lived experiences of body-chaos, he aims to question what it is our bodies can do through movement and tension. His practice experiments with embodied philosophies, focussing on bodies that are placed into an ‘out of spaceness’. Recent explorations have been concerned with precarity, locating the body within an unsteady mimesis, where the boundaries between representation and the Real blur. As a teenager he was diagnosed with epilepsy, the experience of seizures over his adolescence giving rise to a curiosity of the relationship between the mind and the body, and the synthesizing of the two. Tim seeks to explore what affects are produced when we encounter another body through performance, and how this alters, interrogates, and ultimately enhances the relationships we hold with our own bodies. Tim has staged both solo and collaborative work in theatres, industrial basements, empty shopping units, and car parks. He is a member of Wales based performance collective SCORE. www.timmartinjones.com</image:caption>

<image:caption>“For me, performance is the most organic form of communication, so it is my main, though not the only, medium of work. It is also a low-carbon medium, which is not insignificant today. A public performance is usually preceded by a long process of exploring a given topic, during which drawings, musical pieces, videos and texts are created, which may later be incorporated into the show or constitute autonomous works. For a performance I prepare a structure, a kind of script, which I then fill in with individual elements, always leaving space for improvisation, that is, an energetic dialogue with the audience and the venue. I am interested in a lively connection, a direct and sincere presence with the audience, to whom I serve bizarre entertainment at high emotional frequencies, so that the body and intellectual mind have something to feed on.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Events - SPRING SERIES: RAIN, CLOUDS, UNICORNS, AND RAINBOWS - MIAO JIAXIN</image:title>
<image:caption>Beginning in Shanghai, where his photography works expressed the universal theme of urban angst, Miao immigrated to New York, expanding his view of urban streets towards a more conceptual public stage. Among his performative practices across different media, Miao has blended his naked body into the bleak streets of a midnight New York City, traveled inside a suitcase hauled by his mother through urban crowds, made live-feed erotic performances on an interactive pornographic broadcasting website, and dressed as a Chinese businessman for an entire year when working towards his MFA at School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is more widely known for converting his New York studio into a jail and charging $1 per night as accommodation on Airbnb. The same studio later was converted again to be a blind dating (meeting) spot, as well as a massage therapy clinic. Miao’s works often express the ambivalent and sometimes antagonistic tension that always exists between the individual and governing or cultural authorities, questioning assumptions about power in relation to identity politics. He posits the artist’s nature as one who transgresses boundaries, challenges consensus, and stays distant from authorities.</image:caption>

<image:caption>is a Brooklyn-based Californian movement artist. Originally a painter, Ray naturally gravitated toward self-portraiture and has since centered her work around “the self”. Although their body is the primary vehicle and inspiration for her work, they use dance, stillness, and general social distress to connect more vulnerably with her audience. Ray is now better known for their pole dancing, as they’ve competed and performed in a variety of pole dance showcases throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Confronting the relationship between fear and intimacy as a means of self-governance and growth, J is eager to lead his audience toward deeper self reflection.</image:caption>

<image:caption>“I am no artist, but have inhabited spaces and practices that some would call artistic. A she-they kind of womxn, I live through the joys of trans-feminism, the perils of visibility and the paradoxes - physical and philosophical - that existing outside of the gender binary brings (boo to assimilation!). My work endeavors to articulate this all - be it through the minutia of clapping sand out of my perspex heels onto a church pew, or the grandeur of climbing a building’s facade to reach for my lipstick, in a balancing act between endurance and elegance, compulsion and commotion. Neither here nor there, but mostly all over, Monstera tries to unsettle what is perceived as spectacular, disappearing the durational into the liminal, collapsing the monumental into the ephemeral, melting the grand with the clumsy. Hope you'll like her - if you hate her"</image:caption>

<image:title>Events - SPRING SERIES: RAIN, CLOUDS, UNICORNS, AND RAINBOWS - DEEPPOND KIM</image:title>
<image:caption>Recently selected as one of the top 8 finalists in the world for the MTV RE: DEFINE Award, DeepPond’s work has an eerie disturbing quality which blurs the lines between fiction and reality, between humor and horror. Originally from South Korea, DeepPond graduated from Incheon Art High School and obtained a BFA at Sungshin Women’s University in 2014 where she studied a broad range of creative mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, and performance. All of her work provokes a new sense of awareness and questions the authenticity and the limitations of established social structures. Her work reflects a subtle sense of anxiety, where she turns the world upside down twisting what’s familiar into a web of ironic, disturbing, and amusing emotions, inviting people into her world.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Arien Wilkerson/Tnmot Aztro considers the complexities within art derive from the alienation of objects, identities, the body, sounds, and humans and is rooted in repurposing and redefining meanings of "fine art" and it's attachment to colonialism, white supremacy, and institutionalized racism. Their practice articulates epistemology, and ontology by producing large scale performance installations where audiences, public mass, or viewers are submerged within an immersive experience that populates multiple meanings, multiple engines and embody specific movement vocabularies, choreographic structures, and improvisations. Their discipline spans live performance, digital performance, immersive installation, large scale projection mapping and lighting design. Within their creative discipline, they work deeply with live, digital and noise sound experimentation, clothing design and fabrication, writing, scientific research, investigative journalism, community organizing, critical theory, queer studies, and presentation.</image:caption>

<image:caption>A band, a brand. A representation of freedom and unity, a source of black empowerment, and a highlight for women being the garden of life. The combination of artistry Pink Tacos gather is a source of many different visual influences and genres. The vocalist duo “Proof and Yoda” use an orchestra of producers to get the unique sound they are searching for. Their sound called “rage” is similar to Xxxtentacion’s early releases. These students who mastered the craft and added their own presence to instrumentation are gifted. They’ve toured the east coast and made some stops along the west, and are currently playing locally and gaining traction for their next hit single. Subscribe to their Spotify and Apple Music. Would recommend “Pink Gucci”.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Židrija Janušaitė is working in painting, installation, land art, video and performance, organizer of art events, active in Lithuanian and international art scene since 2007. Židrija’s work is defined by stillness: her performance opens up to an experience of intense meditative silence, which, being personal, is shared with whoever choses to enter the special timespace created by the performer. Her performances are mostly meditative, calming, mind relaxing. On another hand, this is how she creates the loop for particular and always individual comprehension, perception of viewer. zidrijajanusaite.com</image:caption>
